Mardi Gras Float Work Session #2

  • 01/14/2024
  • 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • 958 Douglas Ave. in Dunedin.

Help build this year’s Mardi Gras float!

Our theme this year is "The Wizard of Odd."

We’ll put our own twist on this classic story.

The float will include an amazing Emerald Castle and the Wizard! Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Lion will be there along with Flying Monkeys and Glenda, the Good Witch!

There will be work sessions every weekend through Feb. 3 ahead of the parade on Sat., Feb. 10. You don't need to sign up, just show up.

This work session has been moved to Sunday, Jan. 14, due to high winds forecast for Saturday.

Work Session #2

The work plan includes:

  • Painting PVC sheets, then cutting and forming into poppies.
  • Constructing the yellow brick road.
  • Spray paint highlight green on the leaf trellises.
  • Attach green coroplast to castle walls and construct towers.
  • Finish framing Dorothy's house and attach coroplast.
  • Paint Dorothy's house and the witch's side of the castle gray.
  • Test lights to confirm they work.
