Dunedin Boat Club 2022 Education Seminar Series
“Understanding the Rules of the Road on the Water” 

The first education seminar of the year will be conducted on Monday, January 31^st at 7:30 PM. Given the ongoing Covid concerns this will be a hybrid seminar at the clubhouse and on Zoom.

NOTE:  Instructions for the Zoom link will be sent via email prior to the seminar.

The topic is “Understanding the Rules of the Road”. We will cover all aspects of proper and safe passage on the ICW and sub-channels including: 

1. Identification of channel markers 
2. Right of Way in the ICW and other channels 
3. Staying on your side of the channel 
4. Speed Zones 
5. Meeting (bow-to-bow), passing and crossing protocols 
6. Trip planning 

• How to read a nautical chart 
• The best boating Apps and how to use them 
• Creating a maintenance program and log 
• Anchoring 
• Weather 
• Safety at Sea
