The switch to Friday nights seems to be a good change for both on the water and landslide participation. We have held six races since late May. The summer series standings are online and posted on the notice board. Sandy and Gene Wieher, Paula and Ken Shur, and Fairlie Brinkley have done an outstanding job as race committee. Paula Shur is working on her US Sailing CRO certification, which includes a minimum of five races as race officer. It is great to see our members expand both their on and off the water sailing experience. Thank you Paula!
The next Summer Bay Race is Friday, July 12th. We encourage you to come out and participate before the summer is over.
Commodore’s Laundry Race Reschedule
Our annual “FUN” regatta is OFFICIALLY rescheduled to August 3rd. In the interest of full disclosure; The Auman’s would be unable to attend as scheduled. Our boys Markel and Jacob are appearing in the Dunedin Community Centers’ The Lion the Witch and Wardrobe. (shameless plug, which I encourage you to attend)
As I worked through preparations for the July race, I was informed that a couple of our other families have potential conflicts. After conducting a straw poll it looks like August 3rd would be an acceptable date and garner the participation we are accustomed to.
Please visit the website and RSVP under the Racing tab, or click here . This will help us to plan the food correctly.
Dunedin Cup 90 Days and Counting!
The website for our the 29th Annual is up and running, at dunedincupregatta.org and dunedincup.org . I ask everyone to signup and register for your race early. Please also purchase your tickets for the Rendezvous & Auction, Low Country Boil.
It REALLY helps us build momentum for each event. The total number of boats and tickets sold (once over 100) will be posted on the home page.
Every year we have an army of RC volunteers, this year is no exception. Dave Kelly will be coordinating the Portsmouth,Ensign, and One-Design Inshore Regatta on Saturday, Paul Auman will be responsible for Saturday’s Gulf WFPHRF Regatta. Karen Auman will be coordinating Sunday’s DYSA Green Fleet Invitational.
If you have a preferred on-the-water position and day/race please email email@example.com and he will sign you up early. We are asking everyone to help and our goal is to only use you on one event so you may participate in the great weekend of activities.
We are looking to another exciting Cup. Please help the entire Dunedin Cup committee get the word out and build some excitement for September’s Rendezvous & Auction, Dunedin Cup, Low Country Boil, and DYSA “Green” Fleet Invitational.
