ON THE WATER TRAINING
IN THE BAY
FOR RACE COMMITTEE AND MARK BOAT VOLUNTEERS!!!!!
WEDNESDAY, JULY 22ND

This event is designed for anyone who is thinking of using their boat as a Mark Boat or a Signal Boat from which the race is run, whether in the Gulf or Bay. We will have boats to take you out and demonstrate how to properly stream and set a mark, communicate with the race officer running the race, troll the edges of the race course per directions of the Principal Race Officer (PRO) and retrieve the marks at the end of the race. We will also have a Signal Boat out there so that potential volunteers can see what is involved in running the races, how to check in competitors, practice “countdowns” and flag raisings, observe the start and finish line and keep track of the competitors during the race, all under the direction of the PRO. Plan on going out there with confidence once racing starts in early September.

Save the dates: October, 2026! Approximately 2 to 3 weeks cruising the SW coast of Florida.

Both sailboats and power boats are welcome.
Specific details will be forthcoming.
Join in for all of the cruise or any part of it.

ITINERARY (all destinations weather dependent):

Possibly cruise south to Charlotte Harbor, Ft. Myers Beach, or Marco Island
Alternative cruise north to Crystal River based on weather
