Organized Youth Sailing is coming to
The Dunedin Boat Club and
Dunedin Kiwanis are working together to make this happen and need your support
and help.
Background; Early in its history, thanks to a
dock built to accommodate schooners and sloops and the ingenuity of pioneers

chief seaport and trading centers. At one time the village had the
largest Fleet of sailing vessels in
Mission; To encourage participation in the
sport of sailing as a community-based program for youth ages 8-16, and to
provide quality instruction in sailing and safety skills while fostering the
values of responsibility, team-building, sportsmanship, and fairness in this
ecologically sound sport.
Goals; Establish a firm foundation for the
new program. This will involve developing plans for securing and managing:

The Dunedin Youth Sailing
Association's schedule for start up is to offer summer sessions in June 2009
and begin year around training in September 2009.
How can you help?
We have many needs ; Through the Dunedin Kiwanis Foundation we have a tax
advantaged 501c3 for gifting of money, vessels, & equipment. Volunteers
will be needed during the sailing program hours (yet to be set). Your skills do
not have to include sailing to help. We will have many levels of help that will
be needed.
It's for the youth of our
community, it's for the historic preservation of our heritage, it's for
opportunity to participate in a sport that is growing every year and an
activity that is environmentally sound for our local
Please join in the fun.
