The DBC Book Club meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7PM
On February 1st, the book will be "The Prague Cemetery", the highly anticipated,
controversial novel, sold in more than forty countries by Umberto Eco. It's
hard to get from the Librar, so order it early. From a review:
"Nineteenth-century Europe-from Turin to Prague to Paris-abounds with the
ghastly and the mysterious. Conspiracies rule history. "
The meeting will be at Peggy Schott's, 2581 Indigo Drive, Dunedin. Please RSVP to her at 644-0828 or Peggyas@imbedded.com.
The next two months will feature books set in Florida. In March we will be
reading "Swamplandia", by Karen Russell, and in April, "Killing Mister Watson",
by Peter Mathieson.
Even if the books don't sound like something you want to read - give them a try. I had thought I didn't want to read the "Room", but it was a remarkable book, very well writte,, and hard to put down. That's what's good about a book club - you read things you would have passed by. You don't know what you're missing!
You're welcome to come even if you haven't read the book, just let Peggy know you're coming. Hope to see you there!
